Francis and the Lights is the symbolic band name used by American performer and songwriter Francis Farewell Starlite. The term "and the Lights" both to the lights on a stage and pixels on a computer screen.

In 2008, Jake Lodwick, founder of Vimeo, released A Modern Promise on his now defunct label, Normative Music Company, and invested $100,000 in Francis and the Lights.

In 2010, Francis and the Lights toured with Drake, MGMT, Ke$ha, and La Roux.
